Word for 2010

A few years ago, my friend Nance began a great new tradition and this year I've decided to follow suit. Instead of making a bunch of New Years resolutions that only last a couple of weeks, you choose a word, just ONE WORD to focus on for the entire year. Hopefully, as the year goes on you can use it to improve and enrich your life.

So the word I have chosen with a little help from my mom is REMEMBER. Remember that I am a Child of God. Remember the abundance of blessings I have been given. Remember the blessings promised to me if I keep God's commandments and the covenants I have made. Remember to be happy! I hope that I will be able to find ways to "recognize and remember God's kindness." I have started by putting a quote at the column to left. Maybe every time you see it, you will be reminded of the unmeasurable love our Heavenly Father has for you and for each of his children.

What a great idea! I think my word would have to be Balance!

I love this idea and wish you great success! Your post reminded me of the binders my mom and dad made for us a couple years back. It would be a great place to record those remembrances you experience this year for posterity.

What a great idea - and a great word. It covers everything that is important. Thanks for such a great post - It already put my mind in motion and I'm "remembering" a lot more than I did a few minutes ago. THANK YOU!

I love it Sammie! I love how you are using it too!! In a meeting today the Bishop encouraged us to recognize the hand of the Lord in my life. Your word reminds me of that- what a great way to show the Lord that you are mindful of Him and his hand in your life!!

PS I got the idea form someone else but so far it has worked very well for me, and I have loved it!!

I also LOVE the word BALANCE by Somerset. That is an excellent choice!!

Sammie, I love this. Remember.. enough of the past to learn from it, but not enough to let it weigh you down.
